The update empowers businesses to enhance the AI's performance in tasks. Tests demonstrate that the fine-tuned GPT-3.5 Turbo can even surpass GPT-4 in certain tasks.
Data privacy is assured, with customer data solely used for fine-tuning. Applications include improved instruction-following, consistent formatting, and a tailored tone. Additionally, GPT-3.5 Turbo's fine-tuning supports longer content and reduced prompt size, accelerating API calls and minimizing costs. The feature's effectiveness increases when combined with prompt engineering and information retrieval. Support for function calling and gpt-3.5-turbo-16k fine-tuning arrives later.

The company anticipates around $16 billion in revenue for Q3, surpassing expectations and marking a 170% rise from the previous year. The exceptional performance is attributed to Nvidia's AI chip-driven data centre business, with revenue exceeding $10.3 billion. This success has propelled Nvidia's stock market value past $1 trillion, joining the ranks of trillion-dollar companies like Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon.
OpenAI partners with Scale AI to drive enterprise AI adoption
OpenAI, the company behind the viral AI chatbot ChatGPT, intends to simplify AI model customization by partnering with third-party vendors. They've joined forces with Scale AI, a data labeling startup, to integrate Scale AI's fine-tuning tools with OpenAI's GPT-3.5 text-generating model. This collaboration empowers businesses to tailor AI models for specific tasks, such as brand voice or language preferences. Scale's Data Engine platform will prepare and enhance data for fine-tuning GPT-3.5, and human experts will review the models to ensure performance and safety. OpenAI's decision to partner with Scale stems from their proven AI expertise and track record in delivering impactful models. This move coincides with OpenAI's recent announcement of allowing customers to fine-tune GPT-3.5 Turbo using their fine-tuning API. The potential role of an in-house tuning tool is still unclear.
